ISITTA training is designed for psychotherapists, psychologists, counselors, healers, social workers, coaches and medical professionals who want to include an in-depth somatic approach to trauma healing. It is designed for professionals who value experiential learning and recognize their own change process as essential to becoming a more effective healer. This unique training requires a commitment to learning outside of your comfort zone and beyond your intellectual knowledge, as well as a willingness to delve into the mysteries of the body’s healing powers.
Hakomi Professional Training Levels 1 and 2 offer an accelerated course of study for mental health professionals, interns and students, as well as those with commensurate education and experience in counseling and healthcare practices who have demonstrated equivalent skills and knowledge. In the first course, Level 1, you’ll learn the principles and practices of Hakomi Mindful Somatic Psychotherapy through brief online video talks, slideshows, demonstrations, and lots of supervised practice in online breakout groups.
In Hakomi Professional Training Level 2, you’ll expand your skills in Hakomi Mindful Somatic Psychotherapy in three important ways: by developing your “selfhood,” refining your therapeutic strategy, and by working your personal edges as a therapist through in-depth supervised practice. You’ll also refine your therapeutic strategy by learning to choose the tools and interventions that are most appropriate for your clients. Through brief lectures, demos, and in-depth supervised practice, you’ll learn to use Hakomi’s principles and practices to support clients much more confidently, fluidly and effectively.
Leveraging somatic intervention while addressing attachment wounds, ReParentive® Therapy is an intergenerational trauma healing model for clients who grew up in invalidating environments. Led by Certified Hakomi Therapist, Pamela Rosin MFT, this workshop will apply somatic and mindfulness principles for the therapist’s personal nervous system regulation as well as to promote co-regulation in clients.
This training will focus on human psychological and somatic development embedded in the systems that shape the person. Formative years will be emphasized, while exploring the whole life span as context. Special attention will also be given to Indigenous and BIPOC experiences of child development.
Embodywise is approved by the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT) to sponsor continuing education credits (CEs) for LMFTs, LPCCs, LEPs, and/or LCSWs. Embodywise maintains responsibility for each program or course, and its content. If CEs are available for a program or course, the number of continuing education credit hours will be provided on the event page as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.
