Our Vision
What is Hakomi?
What is PAP?
Why choose us?

At the intersection of mindfulness, deep self-exploration, and psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy, our clinical training program merges insights into The Hakomi Method with the evolving landscape of psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy.

We envision a world where therapists are well-equipped with the knowledge and skills to harness the synergies between the Hakomi method and psychedelic therapy. Our program is dedicated to empowering licensed clinicians to integrate these powerful tools into their practice responsibly and ethically. We believe in the power of this combination to facilitate healing, personal growth, and transcendence.

Join us on this exciting journey of personal and professional learning where ancient wisdom and cutting-edge science converge to create transformative healing experiences. This is in person training, brings together  our community based learning through our own personal profound healing path. The Hakomi way is learning from the inside out with compassionate therapeutic guidance towards  personal growth.

The Hakomi Method is a mindfulness-based somatic psychotherapy approach practiced around the globe for more than 40 years. In addition, Hakomi offers more than just a therapeutic approach; it's a pathway to self-discovery and healing.

This gentle, and elegant mindfulness-based method guides individuals on a profound exploration of their inner world, allowing them to understand, heal, and grow in ways that are deeply meaningful. The Hakomi method is rooted in the belief that self-awareness and self-study in a relational context, are the cornerstone of transformation, and it offers a compassionate framework for therapists and their clients to delve into the complexities of the human experience.

The practice of Hakomi is rooted in fundamentals of mindfulness, embodied somatic presence, and loving kindness creating a safe and focused healing environment, fostering deep understanding and transformation. The method is designed to foster the inherent wisdom of each client through conscious presence and skillful present-moment facilitation. This is a unique skill practitioners need to embody to be safe and effective psychedelic practitioners.

Psychedelic Assisted Psychotherapy is pioneering a new era in mental health, facilitating profound shifts in consciousness and the potential for unfathomable healing.

In recent years, the field of mental health has witnessed an exciting resurgence in the therapeutic use of psychedelics. Clinical research has shown remarkable potential for psychedelics in addressing a wide range of mental health issues, from PTSD to depression and beyond. As a complementary tool in therapy, these substances provide unique opportunities for profound healing and self-discovery.

The integration of psychedelics within a therapeutic context offers clinicians and clients alike a powerful catalyst for growth, as well as tools to navigate the uncharted territories of the human psyche. By helping clients to access and process deep-seated emotions, traumas, and insights they are able to connect with their inherent wisdom.

Join us as we embark on a path of healing, and embrace the new possibilities at the nexus of Hakomi and psychedelic therapy.

Designed for licensed clinicians, our program offers a comprehensive curriculum that blends the wisdom of the Hakomi method with the life-changing potential of psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy.  The Hakomi method has been recognized by leading researchers such as MAPS (Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies), as a useful and appropriate methodology for facilitating psychedelic psychotherapy. We provide the knowledge and skills needed to guide clients through their inner journeys, fostering profound healing, growth, and self-discovery.

This unique training program combines our experienced faculty, skills-based somatic curriculum, expert guest lecturers, and transformational experiential learning to support participants to become a part of this exciting journey at the forefront of contemporary psychotherapy.

Learn the power of Hakomi's relational philosophy to create profound safety for exploring expanded states of consciousness based on ethics, legal frameworks, and therapist self-awareness. The training will teach practitioners the skills and techniques necessary to guide clients through the processes of preparing, facilitating, and integrating psychedelic as well as non-medicine expanded states, such as breathwork and meditative states.

Overview

Psychedelic medicines open up multidimensional states of consciousness that are asking to be both experienced as well as understood. We will explore a variety of different psychedelic medicines used in healing work, including therapeutic applications, presentation of substances and their effects, clinical research, and the frontiers of neuroscience related to this emerging field, as well as indigenous contexts and ancient origins.

This training will present maps of consciousness that describe the differing territories accessed. These include Buddhist, Jungian, and psychodynamic maps of consciousness, as well as neurobiological research that are foundational to understanding trauma and attachment. The Buddhist Heart Sutra, as well as the myth of Inanna’s descent to soul will also inform our learning.

Hakomi’s foundational therapeutic approach and teachings from Continuum and Authentic movement will support making the theoretical teachings come alive as lived experiences. Resonating with traditional approaches and aligning with the Hakomi tradition, we will learn from the “inside out", allowing the theoretical material to be experienced and understood firsthand. Followed by practices to develop the necessary skills to guide others through this rich inner territory.

An experiential medicine session using Ketamine will be offered for all students in the U.S. training following a medical screening. Additionally, drumming, breathwork, mindfulness, and music will also be used to induce and guide expanded states. Students will experience immersive expanded sessions as well as learn to hold space (with support) for students in the expanded sessions.

Finally, community learning and support are a cornerstone of ethical and holistic healing approaches. Our safe training space offers students real opportunities to learn and grow through practice and authentic inner exploration.
