Hakomi-Informed Somatic Coaching Program (HiSC) is a professional program that integrates core Hakomi methodology into a coaching framework.

This online training focuses on developing mindful and somatic awareness practices to deepen the client’s personal process. You will enhance both your presence and your skillset as a transformational coach.

Participants will expand their relational skills through Hakomi methods that gently but powerfully invite emotional self-discovery. Supported by the coach, clients will engage in a cycle of transformation towards clarity, action, and deeper satisfaction in their work and in their lives.

This training is suited for established coaches as well as new coaches wanting to train in somatics and mindfulness.

The Hakomi-informed Somatic Coaching (HiSC) Program offers a foundational Program in the principles, theories, and basic techniques of Hakomi Mindful Somatic Psychotherapy as applied to the coaching field. The HiSC Program is a specialized coaching program and is considered continuing coach education (CCE) by the International Coach Federation (ICF).

The HiSC Program is designed for coaches and is not a mental health training for psychotherapists or other licensed or registered mental health professionals. Coaching participants understand that using the full Hakomi method of psychotherapy requires ongoing study and appropriate professional credentials to offer psychotherapy or counseling in the person's region.

The HiSC program is also not a pathway to certification in Hakomi. Hakomi Certification requires completing a Hakomi Training and getting subsequent mentoring and review by Hakomi trainers. At this time, the Hakomi Institute does not endorse titles such as Hakomi Coach. A HiSC graduate who successfully completes the program may refer to themselves as a “Graduate of the Hakomi-Informed Somatic Coaching program.”

HiSC will allow you to:

  • Apply core Hakomi methodology to your coaching practice
  • Discover how to deepen your somatic self-awareness to stay grounded and settled in your coaching seat
  • Practice embodiment as a model for self-healing
  • Become trauma-informed to support your client’s nervous system regulation
  • Apply wisdom and a compassionate mindset to guide your client through times of challenge and adversity
  • Join a lively community of somatic coaches who will support your personal growth and expand your network

Peer Practice Groups

We encourage all students to participate in self-organizing practice groups. Please note that these groups are not faculty-led and are not moderated. There will also be no tech support provided. However, we’ve created some guidance to help you get started:

  1. A Google Doc will be available to registered participants with suggested practice dates and times.

  2. Students can sign up to be a group leader, providing their own Zoom meeting link.

  3. Students can then sign up for a group by selecting a time and a group leader.

  4. If the suggested times don’t work, students are welcome to propose different dates and times and self-organize.

  5. Practice instructions will be provided on our learning platform for each module to help guide you.

We highly recommend participating in these practice groups to support your learning journey!

Recording our training sessions is an integral part of our educational process. These recordings serve as valuable resources for both the enhancement of our training programs and for the benefit of all participants. However, we understand that some individuals may have reservations about being recorded, and we want to ensure transparency and respect your concerns.

It is our policy to record all training sessions for training purposes. These recordings may include audio, video, and screen-sharing content. The recording is made available on our Kajabi online learning platform for participants to access throughout the training program. If you comment during a presentation, this will be recorded. Breakout groups are not recorded.

We respect your right to privacy and offer options for those who prefer not to appear on the recordings. You may choose to turn off your video and mute your microphone during the session, ensuring that your image and voice will not be captured in the recording. However, please note that participating in these sessions indicates your agreement to be recorded unless you opt out using these provided options.
