Touch is an essential tool for deepening the experimental inquiry in the Hakomi method.  This graduate one-day workshop will deepen the safe touch skills necessary to facilitate client processes that focus on attachment and relational trauma.  We will explore how to listen to the soma through compassionate touch practice and how to aid the client through their emotional completion process. This workshop focuses specifically on attachment trauma and relational issues that surface in Hakomi therapy. This workshop will be a hands-on experiential learning environment and short demonstrations of techniques. 

What You Will Learn

In this workshop you will learn:

  • Co-regulation skills when using safe touch

  • Apply relational touch that listens to unfolding somatic process

  • Understand attachment core issue and how touch facilitate safe emotional expressions

  • Discern traumatic somatic activation and specific touch techniques towards regulation

  • How to adjust taking over protocols for relational trauma clients

  • Use your own body awareness efficiently when providing touch interventions. 

  • Understand ethical touch boundaries.

Who Is This For?

This workshop is only for Hakomi graduates and students currently enrolled in Hakomi trainings.

Prerequisites
Completion of Hakomi Comprehensive or Professional Training

Registration/Tuition

Early Registration: $240 if enrolled by August 31, 2023
Regular Tuition: $295 if enrolled by October 10, 2023 (final registration date)

Cancellation Policy
Cancellations received by email by the early registration date will receive a full refund minus a $30 administrative fee. No refunds will be granted for non-attendance or cancellations received after the cancellation deadline.

What To Bring

- Zafu, backjack or yoga mat (the floor is hardwood and isn't carpeted).  Please bring a yoga mat and pillow(s) for comfort.

- Blanket or shawl

- Sitting pillow

- Notebook or iPad for notes

- Wear comfortable clothes to move in and layers for meditative times and dress warmly if you get cold easily.

- Water and/or water bottle with closed top, and anything that makes you comfortable or enhances your learning.

Continuing Education

Innate Somatic Intelligence Institute is approved by the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists to sponsor continuing education for LMFTs, LPCCs, LEPs, and/or LCSWs. Innate Somatic Intelligence Institute maintains responsibility for this program/course and its content.

This course meets the requirements for 7 hours of continuing education credit for LMFTs, LPCCs, LEPs, and/or LCSWs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. CE approval agency: CAMFT. Provider number: 82187. We will email CE certificates within 30 days after this course ends.

If you live outside of California, please check with your local licensing board to ensure that they’ll accept this course for CE credit. As an approved continuing education provider, Innate Somatic Intelligence Institute is required to award CE credit for instructional time only; no CE credit will be granted for lunch and breaks.

To receive CE credit for this course, you must attend the entire day, sign in and out, and submit a signed class evaluation form.
